Studio 9 Presents a Unique Opportunity for Local Writers
Tall Tales from a Small Town
An anthology capturing the essence of small-town life in the words of local writers of short fiction, essay and poetry.
Deadline for Submissions is April 30, 2015.
Submissions in Microsoft Word will be double space, 12 pt Times New Roman font with 1 inch right & left margins and 1 ¼ inch top & bottom margins. Email submissions and completed APPLICATION to: WritingSubmissions@armstronglibraries.org
Submission Guidelines for Short Fiction: Up to two submissions, including essay, will be accepted. Only one piece, with a maximum of 4000 words, may be selected based on originality, literary style, plot & character development, narrative organization and theme relevance.
Submission Guidelines for Essay: Up to two submissions, including short fiction, will be accepted. Only one piece, with a maximum of 4000 words, may be selected based on content, structure, connection with readers, style, literary devices and theme relevance.
Submission Guidelines for Poetry: Up to three submissions, no more than 100 lines each, will be accepted. Multiple entries may be selected. No more than 100 lines may be selected from one poet. Selections will be based on originality, literary style, emotional expression, imagery, composition organization and theme relevance.
Submission does not guarantee selection/publication. The anthology is slated for a fall release. This is a Studio 9 project and all proceeds benefit Ford City Public Library.
