Monday my husband's credit report showed some unauthorized charges. Some going back to 2010. These accounts are in good shape, which leads me to believe that the person has assumed their identity instead of stealing products and defaulting on credit. Due to the nature and extent of the problem, I wanted to know more on the legal implications and found this article https://consumerattorneys.com/practice-area/identity-theft. We cannot buy our first home because of this problem. We are in the process of contacting the credit reporting agencies as well as the police department. Is there anything else we can do to get this problem resolved more quickly?
