June 2020: COVID Candids in Area Parks
Photos & text by Karlee Holmes
As a former park ranger and current Biology instructor, I am always trying to get out in nature as much as possible. The funny thing is, getting outdoors wasn’t always as popular as it is nowadays. Over the past few months, I have noticed an increase in the amount of people fishing, walking the trails, putting their boats on the lake, etc.
With that being said, hopefully the people recreated more during the quarantine were able to appreciate nature a little more as one positive outcome from the quarantine. Due to various reasons, I am sure that not everyone was able to get outdoors so I wanted to share some of it with you.
One thing that I truly enjoyed while being quarantined was being able to slow down and take in my surroundings more than I ever did before, therefore, I had more time to take these landscape photos! All of these beautiful parks are located within or near Armstrong County - all unique in their own special way. Enjoy!
