Finding Your Way in PA is a Pennsylvania based mobile and desktop app designed to share services, resources, and information with young people and families, particularly those experiencing homelessness. While using the app, users can search for and request assistance with services and resources in their current location, local communities, and throughout PA to connect them with helpful supports.

Digital Collections
John F Englert Collection
The collection houses digital materials of local interest. John Englert was an educator, historian and an enthusiastic library supporter. He was instrumental in the building of the current Ford City Public Library. His vision and hard work helped make the library a vibrant centerpiece of the town. The library honors Mr. Englert annually with a fine-forgiveness event on his birthday, December 3rd.

The digital collection is found in the southeast corner of Ford City Public Library, farthest from the front door. It is shelved with the reference and local history/interest materials. Digital materials will circulate to members in good standing. All digital materials can be read, viewed or listened to in the library and online. Copies of oral history recordings may be purchased for a small fee.

America250 Interactive Kits
The Ford City Public Library is pleased to offer 12 America 250th interactive kits to families, schools and educational organizations. These kits contain QR codes and links to educational websites, supplemental materials, and recommended reading. These kits can be viewed online or checked out in hard copy format from the library for 3 weeks just like a book!

This presentation is an overview of the educational kits that the FCPL
will present throughout the year, with a new presentation premiering
each month, plus library resources including books, digital resources, and more! Check back each month for a new interactive presentation.
These kits are also available for checkout in hard copy format
at the Ford City Public Library.
Kit #2: African American History
This presentation will help you recognize the African Americans that made contributions to the United States and honor black Americans from all times - from people who were brought to the United States on boats as slaves to black Americans living in the United States today.
Kit #4: Native American History
The following slides provide an overview of three Native American tribes that historically lived in Western Pennsylvania. This is by no means a definitive list, but a representation of some of the tribes that lived in our local area, specifically Kittanning. The Lenni-Lenape were most prevalent, and Iroquois and Shawnee were also inhabitants of our area of Armstrong County.

Armstrong County was greatly influenced by the Industrial Revolution. Factories sprang up all throughout the county and company towns became common. In this presentation, we will explore a few of
Armstrong County’s historic industries.

well as information about Armstrong County during the American

Did you know that one of the biggest wars in history, The French & Indian War, began in Western Pennsylvania? And that none other than George Washington was here and involved with the start of this war? From Kittanning to Lake Erie, and Valley Forge to Gettysburg, this presentation explores the battles fought throughout our state.
