Movie Magic Teen Book Club

June 21st, July 19th, and August 9th

In our Movie Magic Book Club we will be reading books that were made into movies. At our meeting we will watch the movie and then discuss the book and movie together!

The books will be as followed:

June 21st - Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

July 19th - Stardust

August 9th - Ender's Game

The first book will be available to pick up at the library on May 24th. Subsequent books will be distributed during meetings. If you are interested in joining please call the library at least 2 weeks in advance of the pickup date.

CD Saturn Craft

June 28th

Learn about what makes Saturn's rings so special and make your very own model Saturn with recycled CDs as the rings!

Galaxy Games Get-Together

July 5th

We're playing all kinds of galaxy and space themed games during our Galaxy Game Get-Together! Including Board games, Wii games, and game apps. Or bring your own space themed games to play with the group!

Birthday Party for the Apollo 11 lander

July 12th

Help us celebrate the 50th birthday of the Apollo 11 mission to the moon. We will be celebrating with pizza, cake, and party games!

Galaxy Bathbomb Craft

July 26th

The galaxy is always expanding, what better way to demonstrate this expansion than by making a bathbomb that will fizz and expand in your next bath!

Galactic Defender 

August 2nd

In the Far off future Earth has received a strange transmission from an alien planet. NASA was able to intercept and decode the message but, wary of a strange message from a strange race of aliens, they have kept the message a secret. Before any decision can be made on how to react, NASA will be sending a small, elite force of astronauts to discreetly gather intel on the planet and their inhabitants. That team is you!

Helps us solve puzzles, and complete challenges to discover what these aliens truly want!

 

Adult Summer Reading

Moon walk Book Club

Thursdays @ 9:30 am

We're walking to the moon! Well not actually... Join us as we stroll the Armstrong walking trails discussing our favorite books, our latest reads, or our ever growing to-read list! 

We'll be keeping track of our steps to see if we can it all the way to the moon!

participants must register by calling the library and signing an exercise release form.

 

Adult E-Resource Classes

As part of our Adult Summer Reading, we will be offering three E-Resource classes (one for each month of Summer Reading). The classes are as follows:

June 19th @ 6pm - The Online Catalog and Your Online Library Account 

July 17th @ 6pm - Overdrive & Libby: Your Gateway to E-Books and E-Audiobooks

August 21st @ 6pm- Power Library: Pennsylvania's Electronic Library
