This year's Summer Reading Program features over 120 sessions of continued, new, and special event programs at Ford City Public Library! We offer programs for all ages throughout the week, on evenings, and Saturdays. We hope to see you in the library this summer!

2022 Summer Reading Challenge
June 12th marks the official start date of our 2022 Summer Reading Program along with the start of our Summer Reading Challenge! Through August 12th, log your time spent reading. At the end of the summer, turn in your log sheets to the library and the patrons who have read the most will win the challenge and receive a prize:

2022 Summer Writing Challenge
Oceans of Possibilities: Our Greatest Adventures
Between June 12th and August 12th, stop into the library for a Summer Writing Challenge sheet to write about your greatest adventure! Whether it was a trip to the beach, the time you went skydiving, or a memorable hike through the woods - write about it! All ages are welcome to enter! Each submission will be entered for a chance to win one of two prizes:

Summer Reading Programs for
All Ages
SUMMER BEACH PARTY
Friday 6/17 @1-4pm
Join us at Crooked Creek Lake Beach for a Summer Reading Beach Party! Open to all ages, we will have storytime, treasure hunts, games, activities, free refreshments, a visit from the Armstrong County Conservation District (featuring Myrtle the Turtle!), and more!
FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT
Wednesday 6/29 @6pm: Journey to the Center of the Earth
Wednesday 7/27 @6pm: Water Horse, Legends of the Deep
We'll be hosting two Oceans of Possibilities-themed family movie nights in the library this summer, complete with free refreshments! Open to all ages, the programming area (rear) of FCPL will be made into our very own movie theater. Come cool off and hang out!
COLORING CLUB
Every Friday @2pm
Who says coloring is just for kids?! Stop by on Friday afternoons for Coloring Club - we supply everything you need for an hour of cool and relaxing coloring!

The FCPL Makerspace area is free and open to the public! On these dates, a specific makerspace project will be featured. Feel free to come yourself, with a friend, or your family and try out one of these activities!
FCPL IN THE PARK
Every Tuesday & Thursday @11am-1pm starting 6/7
Library staff & volunteers will be hosting an activity table on Tuesdays & Thursdays throughout the summer alongside Ford City Borough's Summer Feeding Program. Stop by for a fun activity, giveaways, and to learn more about the library!

Local Heritage Roundtable: Ukraine & Eastern Europe
The library will be hosting a local heritage roundtable for community members to come discuss and share their Ukrainian and Eastern European heritage, traditions, and family stories.
